Supplier Performance Management (SPM)

 

To secure the same continuous improvement mindset in the relationship with our suppliers, DAF has a Supplier Performance Management (SPM) program in place. SPM is a structured process aiming to jointly improve results and increase collaboration.

The program is based on:

  • Clear goal setting
  • Transparency of expectations
  • Quarterly review meetings
  • Senior management involvement at both DAF and the supplier

The SPM program evaluates a supplier’s performance in the areas of product development, operations support, and business alignment with PACCAR objectives.

This program drives the continuous improvement of supplier performance, which is and should be a common goal of DAF and our suppliers. PACCAR annually recognizes its top performing suppliers within the SPM program.

Supplier and logistics

Build-to-order: at DAF, trucks are only built when they have been sold, the "Build-to-Order" strategy. The logistic goals derive from the Build-to-Order strategy. 

Supply management vision

The purchasing policy of DAF Trucks NV is consistent with the purchasing policy of PACCAR and based on the vision and strategy of DAF Trucks NV. The customer is given a central place in this strategy ("Customer First"), for instance by providing excellent pre and after sales service ("Total Care").
