The Project Manager Engine Development is responsible for realization of one or more development projects within the constraints of Quality, Timing, Cost and Performance
Job description
- Define the project scope together with the client, program manager and internal stakeholders;
- Plan, execute, monitor, adjust and organize the project(s)Realizing the project goals with delivery within given time, resources and assigned budget;
- Management of the product development team (core team), the adjacent DAF/PACCAR divisions (project team), and suppliers;
- Reporting to and coordination with sponsor and stakeholders.
You will report hierarchical to the Engineering Manager Project Management and functionally to the Program Manager Engines.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a Technical University Degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. In addition, you should have at least 10 years of professional experience combined with a proven track record in Project Management. You should be proactive, motivated, eager to learn, and able to cope well with stress. Furthermore, you should feel comfortable working in a professional, multidisciplinary, and international environment with strict deadlines.
In addition:
- Result oriented, perseverance, flexible and ability to improvise;
- Strong analytical capabilities;
- Experience with PMBoK and Automotive SPICE;
- Effective communicator with good negotiation skills;
- Proven managerial capabilities;
- Technical knowhow preferably related to engine and aftertreatment technology;
- Knowledge of the development processes at DAF and (automotive) suppliers;
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.

Department
Within PACCAR the Global Engine department is responsible for the development of heavy duty truck engine and EAS systems complying with applicable legislation. The engines are used in applications of DAF, Kenworth, Peterbilt and different coach suppliers.
The department Global Engines Engineering is responsible for the hardware development and design of new engines and aftertreatment systems including those suitable for future-proof fuels such as bio-based fuels and hydrogen. In addition, Engineering is responsible to maintaining in-production products.
The Project Manager oversees the status of all tasks, processes and deliverables regarding these responsibilities.
