Job description

We are seeking a specialist and proactive NetSecOps Engineer to join our team, working on our Web Authentication & Authorization Platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network security, performance, operations, and web technologies, and will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring security measures to protect the platform's infrastructure and applications. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest level of security and operational efficiency.

  • Implement, configure, and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, access control systems, and VPNs for DAF Digital’s Platforms
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic, logs, and security events to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents, and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure security best practices are integrated throughout the development lifecycle, and that security controls are aligned with company policies and industry standards
  • Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery, and provide post-incident analysis and recommendations to prevent recurrence; this includes stand-by services to resolve incidents
  • Develop, maintain, and always improve security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Web Authentication & Authorization Platform
  • Conduct periodic security assessments, audits, and penetration tests to identify and remediate vulnerabilities and validate the effectiveness of security controls
  • Research and stay current on emerging trends, threats, and technologies in network security and operations, and recommend new tools and techniques to improve the platform's security posture
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams and external customers on network security and operational best practices, and assist in troubleshooting and resolving network-related issues
  • Create and maintain documentation related to network security architecture, configuration, and operational procedures, and provide training to team members as needed
  • Participate actively in projects, and manage small projects autonomously, ensuring security and operational requirements are met.

Your profile

We are looking for a Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You have excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Bachelor's degree in ICT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; relevant industry certifications, such as CCNA, CISSP, Ethical Hacking or CompTIA Security+, are a plus
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and best practices, including experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control systems
  • Familiarity with web security principles, protocols, and standards, such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Experience with Load Balancing (LTM) and Access Policy Management (APM) or willingness to learn using the BIG IP F5 is a big plus
  • Proficient in network troubleshooting, analysis, and monitoring tools, such as Wireshark
  • Experience in or exposure to agile methodologies, Scrum, and/or other agile frameworks is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data and insights to drive security and operational decisions
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • Business proficiency in English is required. Knowledge in Dutch is a plus
