Job description

DAF and PACCAR are working on their Sustainability Strategy and Framework. 
Sustainability is defined in our DAF values as:

  • We aim to contribute to a better world;
  • We are leading the way in energy transition;
  • We invest in innovative technologies for ESG leadership;
  • We implement science based targets for a sustainable future.

We want to improve our reporting on Sustainability and are therefore looking for a student to support us in:
  • Study and keep us updated on Sustainability reporting legislation;
  • Get a better understanding of required datapoints and their availability in current systems;
  • Set up a robust data collection system;
  • Implement an internal control framework for Sustainability data (Environment, Social and Governance).

Your profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic Bachelor or Master student who is studying in the direction of, for example, Industrial Engineering, Sustainability, Economics, Legal, or similar. You are available from September 2024 until January 2025.

  • Knowledge of ESG and CSRD legislation; 
  • Since this is a project where we are looking for practical results, graduation theses might not fit;
  • Good communication skills (writing and speaking) in English and Dutch are required;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerBI (or other reporting tools).

Department

Sustainability reports into the Finance and Control organization of DAF Trucks and is based in Eindhoven. The role of the finance and control organization is to provide meaningful business information and maintain strong business controls to make sure we comply to all legal requirements and provide accurate information to our stakeholders.

In addition to financial information we are also defining metrics for our sustainability strategy and creating a control framework for these. The importance of Sustainability metrics will grow significantly in the coming  years because of legal requirements to disclose non-financial information in its annual report.
