DAF XDC named ‘Construction Truck of the Year 2027’

The panel of judges consisted of experienced industry professionals, transport operators and commercial vehicle journalists. Jarlath Sweeney, chairman of the Fleet Transport Awards jury, said: “Congratulations to DAF on yet another high-profile truck award. The XD Series is a sure-fire winner, whatever the segment: regional haul, urban deliveries and now also in the construction sector.”

‘DAF XDC has raised the bar’

Sweeney’s fellow jury members were also generous in their praise of the winning truck. Their report include quotes like “The compact yet spacious cab of the New Generation DAF XDC brings new levels of refinement and efficiency to the construction sector” and “DAF's XDC has raised the bar significantly to set a new benchmark in this segment.”

Distinctive design, wide chassis variation

With its double-steered front axles and robust double-driven tandem with single or hub reduction, the awarded DAF XDC 8x4 offers technical GVWs of up to 44 tonnes, which makes the vehicle an excellent choice for tipper, concrete and other typical construction applications.
The distinctive exterior design of the DAF XDC features a robust black grille, radiator protection plate and steel bumper, while the high ground clearance (40 cm) and large approach angle (25o) support operation in challenging conditions.

The DAF XDC is also available in a wide variety of 4x2 and 6x4 tractor and rigid configurations and is powered by the powerful yet efficient PACCAR MX-11 engine, which delivers 270kW/370hp, 300kW/410hp or 330kW/450hp.
