Job description

Are you passionate about Artificial Intelligence and eager to apply your knowledge in a real business environment? In this internship, you will explore how AI can be used to optimize truck sales and logistics processes and create business value for DAF Trucks. One potential use case is leveraging AI to identify opportunities to increase sales of optional truck features and services by analyzing customer data, historical sales information, and market insights. Together with business stakeholders, you will investigate opportunities, develop innovative concepts, and translate them into practical solutions. As the project is still evolving, you will have significant freedom to shape the assignment and incorporate your own ideas and interests.

Your profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic Bachelor’s or Master’s student who is eager to apply AI to real business challenges:

  • You are pursuing a degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Information Management, Organizational Process Science, or a related field;
  • You have a strong interest in AI, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making;
  • Experience with AI applications, data analytics, or process optimization is an advantage;
  • Experience in logistics, sales, or supply chain processes is considered a plus;
  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • You are proactive, curious, and eager to learn;
  • You communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus;
  • You enjoy collaborating with different stakeholders and can work both independently and in a team environment;
  • You are adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving project environment;
  • Start date is February 2027. The number of internship days is negotiable.

Department

Truck Logistics is part of the central Marketing & Sales organization of DAF Trucks in Eindhoven. The department is responsible for managing the truck sales and delivery process, including:

  • Lead management
  • Customer quotation support
  • Truck order management
  • Truck delivery
  • Vehicle registration

These processes are supported by various IT systems and reporting dashboards.
