Job description
As a Quality Officer Design for Six Sigma, you play a key role in supporting quality throughout product development projects. You support projects to strive for first-time-right development, help managing and reducing risks, define process directions, and drive continuous improvement in product and process quality. In practice, this means:
Continuous Improvement
- Process improvement:
- Manage (workshops on) Product Creation Process flow chart improvements and maintenance
- Clarify processes by documenting and aligning them with Engineering
- Improve internal Q&R processes through small improvements
- Standardize internal Q&R processes and document these in department instructions
- Develop or update e-Learnings if applicable
- Help with identifying process knowledge gaps in project teams and support resolving them by providing training on:
- The Product Creation Process and its key deliverables
- The V-model
- Basic configuration management
Quality Assurance
- Support Engineers with key Product Creation Process deliverables, such as: DFMEAs, Scorecards and Supplier Signoffs
- Support Project Management and Engineers with task management within projects
- Support Project Management on process deviations and related risk management
- Create input for project reviews from a quality perspective, to give the project a neutral insight into and fact-based overview of their progress
Quality Control
- Review key deliverables and provide constructive feedback to support quality, process compliance and continuous improvement.
Other work-related duties may be assigned to support the team.
Your profile
As a Quality Officer, you have a technical bachelor’s or master’s degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in the Automotive industry or in a product development environment. Also, you have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Additionally, you:
- Have experience in structured development processes, preferably experienced in key deliverables of the Product Creation Process, such as the TRS, DFMEA, Scorecards, Concept Design Reviews, Safety Design and Compliance reviews
- Can learn and use new processes and techniques and resourcefully solve issues
- Have the willingness to grow continuously, both personally and professionally and have strong results orientation
- Have a Six Sigma Belt Certification (Green belt, DFSS belt and/or Black Belt)
- Are experienced in Six Sigma, Shainin, Lean or other problem-solving techniques
- Proficient in the Dutch and English language, verbally and in writing
- Preferably: Have experience in auditing procedures, processes, and tools
- Preferably: You have a basic understanding of the DAF Quality Management System

The department has four groups; Quality Management, Six Sigma Support, Reliability, Functional Safety/Cyber Security and consists of 16 enthusiastic professionals in Europe and North America.
