Bachelor internship: Running Custom Code in Simulink

Investigate if- and how we can incorporate custom code within MATLAB Simulink

  • Location Eindhoven
  • Organisation Unit Internships Eindhoven
  • Fulltime Fulltime
  • Education level Bachelor
  • Contract type Internship contract

Job description

At DAF we use Model Driven Development where the software is ‘written’. Or more specific, modelled. It makes our software readable for more than only our development. But modelling the complete functionality of an instrument cluster or diesel engine may lead to unreadable software due of its size.

Therefore, we want to have investigated if- and how we can incorporate custom code within MATLAB Simulink. We want to combine the power of both worlds for modelling for the functional requirements, and text based programming for the trivial functions.

This task includes:

  • Learning MATLAB Simulink;
  • Investigate ways to combine custom (C) code and Simulink;
  • Implement and unit test a feature;
  • Investigate testing of interaction between custom code and Simulink.

Possible extensions:
  • Vice versa, where MATLAB Simulink models are called from (C) code context.
