As an intern in the “Costing & Analysis” group, you will be responsible for assessing the accuracy of budgeted versus actual claim costs for the repair and maintenance contracts of New Generation DAF (NGD) Trucks and providing proposals for improvement.
Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Accessing and cleaning claim data from the field for New Generation DAF Trucks.
  • Analyzing the cleaned data to identify discrepancies between budgeted and actual costs.
  • Assessing the overall total cost level, ramp-up effects, and individual component performance.
  • Developing presentations to communicate your findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborating with team members to translate insights into actionable improvement plans.
  • Supporting the team in enhancing data-driven decision-making for various stakeholders.

Jouw profiel

We are looking for an enthusiastic HBO student pursuing a degree in fields such as Data Analytics, Business Economics, or a related discipline. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Education: -Preferably- enrolled in a bachelor/master program related to Data Analytics, Business Economics, or a similar field.
  • Experience: Experience in solving data-related problems, including data collection, cleaning, and analysis.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in data analysis and presentation software, such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
    • Programming skills in Python or similar languages for data manipulation and analysis.
    • Experience with data visualization techniques to present insights clearly and effectively.
    • Familiarity with statistical analysis methods to assess data accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Language Skills: Strong communication skills in English are required; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.

Afdeling

The “Costing & Analysis” group is part of the Aftersales department the Marketing and Sales at DAF Trucks N. V.. The department consists of a dedicated team of 15 professionals, including data analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and cost engineers. The mission of Costing & Analysis is to collaboratively translate business needs into actionable data insights by conducting proactive data (cost) analyses, generating reports, and developing models. This empowers data-driven decision-making for our customers, dealers, and the DAF business, ultimately aimed at maximizing vehicle uptime and optimizing Repair and Maintenance (R&M) costs.
