For our Vehicle Electrification department, we are looking for an intern who will assist with various tasks.
As an intern, you will be responsible for the fuse concept assessment and improvement for future BEV projects.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Perform fuse assessment of the overall HV architecture (battery, and distribution box) for all short circuit currents for all vehicle configurations;
- Assess fuse selectivity;
- Identify gaps in the current design;
- Gather all overcurrent protection functions and assess if any component lifetime is affected;
- Gather all component limitations (temperature, short circuit currents, …);
- Define improvement opportunities;
- Define requirements for future projects;
- Create guideline or tool to perform fuse assessment.
Jouw profiel
We are looking for an enthusiastic electrical student:
- With electrical/automotive/industrial engineering bachelor/master;
- With background in power electronics, thermal systems and electrical safety;
- Capable and willing to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment;
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
Afdeling
The Product Development department Vehicle Electrics/Electronics is responsible for the application and development of electrical and electronic vehicle systems. Within this department, the group Vehicle Electrification focuses on high voltage systems (i.e. eMotor, convertors, e-auxiliaries, batteries, etc) for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV).
These high voltage systems are developed in close cooperation with system suppliers, and together with DAF’s sister companies Kenworth, Peterbilt and Leyland.
