Functiebeschrijving

For this assignment you will investigate the electrical charging plans for Battery Electric Truck throughout Europe, both on:

  • Check current plans on electrical infrastructure on both European and national levels;
  • Estimate if these plans are sufficient for supporting the roll out of Z.E. trucks;
  • Define key criteria / enablers ánd risks for the public charging infrastructure to be rolled out.

Home / Depot Charging:
  • What are enablers / risks for installing depot chargers or Z.E. trucks;
  • Check the current status of electrical grid congestion and future estimates on resolving this in several large European countries.

The assignment consists of an in-dept desk-research and discussions with local DAF subsidiaries throughout Europe for the status and information on electrical infrastructure. With this information an estimate has to be made how many trucks can be charged in future years: what will be the possible Z.E. truck fleet on the European roads in the 2030-2035 timeframe?

The result of your assignment is giving DAF a clear indication of the current status and plans on electrical chargers for ZE trucks, including an overview of the risks and enablers for the roll out, per main region.
