Gösta Johanssons Åkeri adds first DAF truck to their fleet
Gösta Johanssons Åkeri is one of Sweden’s largest transport companies, specializing in the safe and efficient transport of chemicals across the Nordic region. With 35 tank trucks on the road and four generations of experience, they recently added a DAF truck to their fleet for the very first time — a move driven by their commitment to quality, safety, and continuous development.

“Since introducing the New Generation DAF truck, we have experienced an impressive fuel consumption rate, averaging just 3.2 liters per 100 kilometers. This efficiency is crucial as we transport loads exceeding 60 tons of hazardous materials, including sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide,” Martin adds.
“We are confident that as our DAF truck accumulates more mileage, we will see even greater improvements in fuel efficiency. The DAF XG+ has transformed our operations. The spacious DAF XG+ cab allows the driver to handle long-distance transports comfortably. “Driving comfort is essential,” Martin Brocker explains. “Our drivers spend significant time in the truck, making it crucial for them to feel at home.”
Nobody could agree more than veteran driver Kent Beijer, who started driving trucks way back in 1992. He’s very happy with his 530 hp DAF XG+ .
“You can feel the power. It’s just great. We’ve driven it for 30.000 kilometers and so far we’ve done 1 liter in 3.2 kilometers. And that’s very good, considering the 60 tons GCW. We expect it to go even lower when we’ve driven it 50.000 to 70.000 kilometers.”
