‘’Always try to improve yourself, and get out of your comfort zone’’

Jing Li - Logistic Innovation & Operations Support Manager at PACCAR Parts Europe

Jing Li started her career at DAF in 2017 after she obtained her PhD in Marketing and Innovation at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). She started within DAF as a Business Intelligence Specialist.

“I was approached via LinkedIn and was interested right away,” Jing Li explains. “The job opportunity was in line with the work I did for my PhD at the TU/e and I knew DAF, because it is a renowned company in the Brainport region. I find the automotive industry quite interesting, because there are many developments going on.

After working in the marketing department for 7 years, she moved to Logistics and Operations. She currently holds the position of Logistic Innovation & Operations Support Manager at PACCAR Parts Europe. In her new role, she is responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain process, from suppliers to dealers to end customers. This position intrigued her as it allowed her to step out of her comfort zone and apply the knowledge she gained from her various degrees to the business.

‘’I always strives to step out of my comfort zone and expand my knowledge and experience," Jing Li explains. "I actively seek out challenges in new areas that will drive my career forward." DAF provides support in taking these steps. "My manager has been supportive, and DAF's mentoring program also helps in making progress and advancing your career."

However, it is important to take initiative by asking for trainings, demonstrating your ambitions, and openly discussing your career goals with your manager. It is a two-way communication, where transparency plays a key role. "I am constantly working towards self-improvement," Jing Li concludes.
