As a Technical Project Lead you are the link between the project organization and line organization. You are the point of contact on behalf of our department within the various (vehicle) technical projects.
- You have coordination with various other departments about the required deliverables for the project, such as the hardware, software and documentation, that are necessary for developing the diagnostic functionality.
- You make and monitor plans for diagnosis function development to achieve project targets, in line with the line strategy.
- You report the status, prepare technical decision-making and initiate corrective actions if necessary.
- You are assigned to one or more projects and report to the management of the Diagnostics department and inform the project management of the progress.
A Technical Project Lead typically has several meetings per project each week, focusing on coordination and progress tracking, for example:
- Internal Stakeholder Meeting with DAVIE team
Discuss required features, current status, obstacles, and planning. The Technical Project Lead works closely with the Product Owner of the diagnostic authoring teams to align on project needs and timelines. The Technical Project Lead translates the status of each development activity into the ‘diagnostic readiness’ of a project. - External Stakeholder Meeting (PD, IT, Operations, Purchasing)
By reviewing the ‘diagnostic readiness’, the Technical Project Lead provides status updates, discusses changes and or delays and escalates where necessary, in order to ensure timely readiness of Diagnostic features for each project. - Management Update
Share progress and readiness updates with management and key representatives. - Development Team Meetings
Where needed, the Technical Project Lead participates in periodical SE team meetings, to support the Diagnostic Business Analyst & Product Owner in detailed discussions on technical directions. - Estimation & resource monitoring
The Technical Project Lead ensures a clear understanding in upcoming work and resource alignment.
Jouw profiel
We are looking for a practical, hands-on project lead with organizational and planning skills who naturally plays a leading role. A candidate with a degree on technical bachelor or master for example in automotive engineering or technical business administration with knowledge of information technology.
- As technical project lead you are assertive, pro-active and decisive.
- You have at least 5 years relevant experience, preferably in a (Truck) automotive related environment.
- You are familiar with the V- cycle model and preferably have knowledge of definition and acceptance validation, vehicle communication and diagnostic methods.
- Knowledge of Agile scrum is a plus.
- Of course you have good communication skills in English.
Afdeling
The Diagnostics department, approximately 60 people, is part of the After Sales organization within Marketing & Sales and is responsible for the hardware and software development, production and maintenance of the DAVIE tool for DAF Trucks and PACCAR Engines workshops and - factories worldwide. DAVIE is an off-board diagnostic tool and offers dealers, garage and workshop owners six main features so that they can perform diagnosis and repair actions as efficiently as possible:
- Vehicle Check
- Monitoring
- Vehicle Updates
- Customer Parameters
- Diagnostic test set
- Manufacturing Sequences
You will be part of the Project Management department of Diagnostics, consisting of 3 Technical Project Leads, together responsible for around 30 projects, divided into ICE projects, EV projects and Vehicle Integration projects. This vacancy will have a main focus on the latter.
