This posting is for high voltage power electronics development, which involves Onboard Charging, DCDC Conversion, AC Inverters, Charge Controllers, Charge Control Functions, Fuse, Circuit breakers, Circuit Protection technologies, High Voltage Charging and Power Converters. The position opens for this program will work together in control and interface with suppliers to develop the next generation of high voltage components. These components enable key vehicle functions of safety, charging, and power transmission to all vehicle electronics. The ideal goal of this development effort is to integrate and consolidate devices into an elegant system that optimizes performance, packaging, and cost to support longer range and higher adoption of commercial EV’s.

This position is located at PACCAR’s North Texas Office in Lewisville.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Deliver the design, development, and implementation of new high-voltage power electronics system.
- Develop component specifications based on system performance targets.
- Coordinate development activities with prototype suppliers to deliver functional hardware for coordinated testing and validation.
- Support and contribute to the product development roadmap for advanced electric vehicle technologies through collaboration with suppliers and colleagues across the PACCAR global organization.
- Provide written and verbal updates to communicate status, changes, risk/gaps to vehicle program timelines and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Less than 25% travel is expected.

This position is located at DAF Trucks’ Eindhoven headquarters
The direct supervisor for this position is located in Texas State, USA. The successful candidate for this role is expected to maintain work hours ending no earlier than 18:00 daily, to allow sufficient time overlap with the team in Washington. This role will include substantial virtual collaboration with and occasional travel to PACCAR locations in Washington, Texas and The Netherlands to enable a powertrain supporting the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF vehicles.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is required.
- 5+ years’ experience with electric vehicles or high voltage electronics components is preferred.
- Experience with automotive or commercial vehicle networks, such as CAN, SAE J1939, and LIN required.
- Proficiency in using Requirements Management tools and Systems Engineering tools desired.
- Experience using IBM Rational DOORS, IBM Rational Team Concert, ePRO/eEngineer and Mentor Graphics is a plus.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO 15404, SPICE compliance, system-level embedded/software prototyping (RCP) and requirements generation preferred.
