Six Sigma Black Belts are change agents for process and product quality improvements. They are responsible for deploying, applying and embedding quality concepts and continuous improvement tools across our business. They assist in solving complex technical issues lead teams from various disciplines. Furthermore, they guide teams in applying the best applicable methods and tools, and perform data analysis to achieve major improvements in product and process quality.
Your work is diverse and dynamic and includes:
- Applying Six Sigma tools and structured problem solving methods to eliminate complex; defects and improve process capability. Problems are very diverse and can cover everything in the powertrain, from hardware to software and electronics;
- Coaching and leading cross-functional teams;
- Analyzing data, including drawing fact-based conclusions;
- Providing analysis reports and feedback on project and improvement activities;
- Transferring best practices, Six Sigma techniques, procedures and tools to cross-functional teams;
- Guiding Lean, Green and Black Belts during their certification process.
Jouw profiel
As a Six Sigma Black Belt, you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline and five or more years of work experience, preferably in the automotive industry. Also, you have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate from engineering to senior management level.
Additionally, you:
- Are experienced in Six Sigma (experience with Kepner Tregoe, Shainin or equivalent is a plus);
- Preferably have a Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification;
- Understand structured development processes (experience with PCP is a plus);
- Are proficient in the Dutch and English languages, both orally and in writing;
- Are able to quickly learn new technical subjects, use new processes and techniques and resourcefully solve complex technical issues;
- Are able to go into technical details while keeping a high-level view of the process;
- Have the willingness to grow continuously, both personally and professionally, and you are results-oriented.
Optionally, you:
- Have experience with programming in SQL or Python;
- Have base knowledge of Minitab, Tableau or Power BI;
- Have experience with Weibull analyses.

Afdeling
The department PACCAR Powertrain Quality & Reliability is responsible for achieving and maintaining Quality, Reliability and Functional Safety. The team consists of fourteen enthusiastic professionals. The department has three groups: Quality Management, Six Sigma Support and Reliability.
Our activities are process support for projects via the Product Creation Process, supporting problem resolution for Running Business via the Problem Resolution Process. We also conduct audits, set reliability targets, and perform various different tasks. For the Six Sigma Support group, we have an open position for a Six Sigma Black Belt.
