1. New European map for navigation
The latest map is updated to 2008 and includes new roads, updated address data, updated commercial POI’s (points of interest) and DAF POI’s.
Advantages:
To make sure your can find your way on the newest maps of Europe. Quick and save in area’s where you are not familiar. In combination with Traffic Information, the new 2008 map will help you and provide the joy of being able to find your way without delay’s or wrong routes.
2. Navigate in 41 countries
With 11 new countries, on top of the 30 countries already covered, navigation is complete for West and Middle Europe.
Advantages:
Plan a route from Ireland to Greece or from Finland to Gibraltar at once. No new map has to be loaded. Faster and flexible route planning saves time and costs.
3. Data connection in 42 countries
DAF TELEMATICS SYSTEM has now coverage in 42 countries for unlimited mobile phone/GPRS communication. Covered are the navigation countries and Turkey.
Advantages:
Saving up to 50% on your mobile phone invoice by using DAF TELEMATICS SYSTEM for communication between drivers and back-office. Communicate with free text messages or up to 50 pre-configured messages.
4. 13 European languages
DAF TELEMATICS SYSTEM now offers 13 languages in the user menu and in navigation.
Advantages:
Make a personal selection from 13 languages. At login automatically the unit switches to your preferred language.

5. See the next destination in your info bar
It is now possible to see the next destination in the information bar at the top of the display.
Advantages:
Easy to keep track on where you are going.
6. Improvements in text messaging
It is now possible to see the complete subject text on the unit display. The planner can give more information to make sure that the driver get’s the right information. You can now see the complete subject when opening the message.
Advantages:
The planner can be sure that the right information has been send to the driver and the driver opens the entire message. Planner and driver can understand each other without having to call or resend messages, saving time on both sides.
7. Store unfinished free text messaging
For safety reasons, it is impossible to compose a free text message when driving. DAF TELEMATICS SYSTEM now stores any unfinished text messages when you start driving, even if you did not save the message yourself.
Advantages:
This saves time and makes work easier, as you don’t have to re-type the message again.
8. Unit prepared for the new DAF Services System
The on-board unit is now fully prepared for the new DAF TELEMATICS SERVICES SYSTEM which will be introduced in the first quarter of 2009. You will be informed separately on the details of the introduction of this platform.
Advantages:
With software version 1.1.0 the on-board unit is fully prepared for the newest modules that will become available on the service platform. New modules are:
- Upload a route to the on-board unit
The DAF TELEMATICS unit will be able to receive a trip or route that is composed by the planner. This is also possible while driving, the driver activates the trip.
- Geo fencing
With geo fencing it is possible to receive an alert when a unit is entering or leaving a pre-defined area by the planner or back-office.
- Contact Book
With the contact book you manage your contacts; company name, contact person, address, phone number, email and remarks. The contact book can be maintained on the portal and sent to one or more on-board units. The driver can use the contact book for navigation or to send an email direct to one or more contacts.
