DAF introduces Euro 6 XF Low Deck tractor

DAF have introduced the new Euro 6 XF as a Low Deck tractor, specially designed for high volume transport operations. The new 4x2 tractor unit has a fifth wheel height of only 960 millimetres enabling the operation of trailers with an interior height up to three metres. Consequently, within legal parameters, load volumes of up to 100 m3 are possible.

His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange starts Euro 6 production

His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange officially started production of the new DAF XF on Wednesday April 3. The new truck was developed to meet the Euro 6 emissions standards that will come into force in the European Union. DAF has invested around one billion euro to develop an entirely new Euro 6 vehicle range and to prepare its production facilities in Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Westerlo in Belgium for the new generation of trucks.

PACCAR Parts further expands TRP programme

With the addition of a complete series of supports legs, airbrakes and LED lighting for trailers, the TRP product range now contains over 75,000 parts. It represents a leading range of parts for all truck and trailer brands and workshop requisites. PACCAR Parts introduced its TRP Truck and Trailer Parts programme in 1995 within the framework of the "One Stop Shop" strategy, whereby a haulier can find everything for his fleet from one address.

PACCAR MX-11 engine offers maximum performance and efficiency

DAF Trucks is announcing a brand new generation of engines with a displacement volume of 10.8 litres and outputs ranging from 290 to 440 hp. The new state-of-the-art PACCAR MX-11 engine is compact and offers optimum fuel efficiency and a low weight and noise level, in combination with excellent performance and maximum reliability. The new PACCAR MX-11 engine, developed and built by DAF Trucks in Eindhoven, is scheduled to go into production in the autumn of 2013 and will be available in the new DAF Euro 6 CF and XF series.

DAF sets new records in 2012

DAF Trucks has further strengthened its position on the European truck market last year. With a record market share of 16% in the heavy segment (16 tons+) DAF is now the second largest heavy truck brand in the EU*. Moreover, DAF is leading the market in the heavy tractor segment with a market share of 19.1%.

“PACCAR reported record revenues for 2012 and its 74th consecutive year of net profit. PACCAR’s annual revenues of $17.05 billion were the highest in company history and the $1.11 billion of net income was the fourth best in our history,” said Mark Pigott, chairman and chief executive officer.

DAF launches First Choice

First Choice is a completely new programme for young used DAF trucks offered exclusively by European DAF dealers. DAF vehicles with the First Choice label are less than five years old and have no more than 500,000 kilometres on the clock.
