1. PACCAR Announces Strong First Quarter Revenues and Earnings 24-04-2012
"PACCAR reported excellent revenues and net income for the first quarter of 2012," said Mark Pigott, chairman and chief executive officer. "PACCAR's results reflect the benefits of increased truck sales in North America and growth in financial services assets and aftermarket revenues worldwide.
2. DAF introduces new roof spoiler 16-04-2012
DAF is introducing a new, lower-weight roof spoiler, featuring an improved adjustment range with a unique adjusting mechanism, which makes it easy for the driver to position the spoiler at an optimum height.
3. DAF announces Euro 6 engines with common rail 05-04-2012
DAF Trucks announces a new engine generation, developed for the new Euro 6 emissions legislation, which comes into force in the European Union on 1 January 2014. The 12.9 litre Euro 6 PACCAR MX-13 engine uses ultra-modern common rail technology, a turbo with variable geometry and advanced controls for maximum efficiency. In order to comply with the strict Euro 6 emissions requirements, it features exhaust gas recirculation, together with SCR technology and an active soot filter. "The PACCAR MX-13 engine is ultra clean", says Ron Borsboom, member of the DAF Trucks N.V. Board of Management and responsible for Product Development. "In addition, we've gone to great lengths to obtain industry leading fuel efficiency, reliability and sustainability."
4. DAF 2600 celebrates anniversary at the BedrijfsautoRAI 2012 04-04-2012
The DAF 2600 returns to the BedrijfsautoRAI fifty years after its introduction. The truck, which was known for its unparalleled driver comfort, was first shown there in 1962. The ‘Mother of the International Road Transport’ is exhibited from 17 to 21 April at the BedrijfsautoRAI 2012 in the Hall 4 at the Classics Square.
5. DAF Trucks Announces Construction of New Parts Distribution Center in Eindhoven 02-04-2012
DAF announced a € 30 million planned investment in construction of a new state-of-the-art PACCAR Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. “The new distribution center replaces the existing Eindhoven distribution center and provides additional capacity and operating efficiency to support DAF’s growth”, said Harrie Schippers, DAF Trucks president. “In 2011 DAF achieved a record 15.5% EU market share in the above 16 ton class and captured market leadership in tractor sales. DAF’s success is due to our excellent dealer network and efficient product range supported by industry leading services, such as PACCAR Financial and PACCAR Parts.”
6. BedrijfsautoRAI 2012: DAF focuses on ATe programme 14-03-2012
For DAF Trucks, the Bedrijfsauto RAI 2012 exhibition, which is to be held in Amsterdam from 17 to 21 April, is all about Advanced Transport Efficiency (ATe); a complete range of solutions to further reduce fuel consumption and emissions and improve truck efficiency. Alongside the CF85 and XF105 ATe Edition models, DAF will be showcasing developments that form part of its ATe philosophy, including an aerodynamic body for the LF distribution truck and a new lightweight tandem axle.
7. DAF launches special website for the bodybuilding industry 08-03-2012
DAF Trucks is launching a bodybuilder information website (www.dafbbi.com) especially designed for the bodybuilding industry. The online platform is available in ten languages and provides bodybuilders in all details and guidelines they need to efficiently build on a DAF chassis.
8. DAF European Technician of the Year 2012 16-02-2012
The DAF European Technician of the Year 2012 Award has been won by Rinze Louwsma of Cosmo Bolsward, the Netherlands. The European final, which consisted of ten parts, took place at DAF Trucks in Eindhoven. The trophy was presented by Johan Drenth, After-Sales Director of DAF Trucks N.V.
9. DAF introduces new lightweight tandem axle 10-02-2012
DAF is introducing a new air-sprung tandem axle with single reduction, which has been specially developed for heavy applications requiring additional traction and where off-road driving is limited.
10. DAF No. 1 in tractors in Europe 03-02-2012
DAF has further strengthened its position in the European truck market last year. In the heavy class (15 tonnes +) in the European Union* a record market share of 15.5% was achieved, which puts the Dutch truck manufacturer well on its way towards its target of 20% over the medium term. With a market share of 18.9% in Europe, DAF is number 1 in the heavy tractor segment.
