DAF's cab and axle factory in Westerlo, Belgium
The latest production technologies at DAF Trucks
In DAF’s engine factory, employees receive standardized work instructions on PC workstations. Robots are used to enhance assembly accuracy and for heavy physical work. This applies not only to the totally renewed engine factory, but to all DAF factories. At DAF’s component factory, for example, skilled workers use advanced welding robots and plasma cutting machines to produce a wide range of cab, chassis and axle parts.
Ultra-modern CNC-controlled machines and welding robots have been installed at the Westerlo, Belgium cab and axle factory to continuously raise quality. The Leyland assembly plant in the United Kingdom is a highly modern facility, opened in 1980, currently producing the DAF LF series, as well as CF and XF105 models.
