A brief overview


DAF has been developing and manufacturing its own engines for exactly fifty years. During that time, the company has built up an excellent reputation as far as durability, reliability, fuel economy and low emission values are concerned.

2012

Introduction of the PACCAR MX-13 engine. This engine complies with Euro 6 emissions legislation which comes into force in the EU on 1 January 2014.
The 12.9 litre Euro 6 PACCAR MX-13 engine uses ultra-modern common rail technology, a turbo with variable geometry and advanced controls for maximum efficiency. 12.9 litres. Outputs up to 375 kW (510 hp).

2011

Introduction of the PACCAR MX engine with innovations in the field of fuel efficiency. (DAF Advanced Transport Efficiency) New pistons, optimised fuel injection and a unique, fully encapsulated exhaust manifold unit ensure substantially lower fuel consumption and therefore lower CO2-emissions. 12.9 litres. Outputs up to 340 kW (460 hp).

2010

Introduction of the PACCAR MX engine that meets with the American EPA 2012 emission standards. This MX engine is used in the American Truck brands Peterbilt and Kenworth.

XEC: Electronically controlled injection.

PE: Electronically controlled injection.
9.2 litres. Outputs up to 265 kW (360 hp).

XF: First DAF engine with four valves per cylinder.
12.6 litres.

WS: ATi, introduced alongside DAF 95.

DKS 1160: World premiere:
First truck engine with turbo intercooling.

Tuned intake pipes for extra power without turbo.

DS575: First DAF turbo engine.

DD575: Leyland 0.350 built by licence.
